Torremolinos Beaches

Torremolinos has a lot to offer when it comes to beaches, with over 6 kilometres of golden sand in total. Considerable investment has been made around the sea front and many beaches have benefited. Great care and attention is paid to litter collection, and lifeguards/police patrols are in operation. A promenade now links the town's six beaches together.

Please see below for information on the most popular beaches in Torremolinos: -

Playamar Beach

Playamar beach is one of Torremolinos' most popular, and has been for many years. The sand here is fine and the waters clean. An urbanised beach it is flanked by one of the town's commercial centres, with many shops (including popular fashion outlets) close at hand. There is also a good collection of Chiringuitos (beach front cafes) present. At just under a kilometre in length it can get crowded during the summer months. This beach is suitable for sailing/windsurfing.

Facilities include; Water sports, sun beds and umbrellas, showers, children's playground, ramps and provision for people with disabilities, life guards, and regular police patrols.

Playa El Bajondillo / El Bajondillo Beach

Playa Bajondillo is located at the front of Torremolinos centre, and is popular amongst town residents. Though more than one kilometre in length its convenience ensures crowds, especially during the summer months and at weekends.  There are plenty of Chiringuitos (beach front cafes) and other eateries close at hand.

Facilities include; Sun beds and umbrellas, beach volleyball, water sports, sailing, diving, showers, ramps and provision for people with disabilities, life guards, and regular police patrols.

Playa La Carihuela / La Carihuela Beach

Playa La Carihuela stretches for over two kilometres, connecting Torremolinos with Benalmadena. This is a good beach with a delightful promenade, and an ideal place to take a walk as it is flanked by some of the prettier parts of town. This is where the old men come to play dominos and boules, and many of the coastal properties here are older and have character. Though it can get busy at peak periods it is less crowded than some of the other more central offerings. A good variety of services and Chiringuitos (beach front cafes) are on offer.

Facilities include; Sun beds and umbrellas, beach volleyball, water sports, sailing, fishing, showers, ramps and provision for people with disabilities, life guards, and regular police patrols.

Playa Los Alamos / Los Alamos Beach

Playa Los Alamos stretches eastwards from Torremolinos towards the mouth of the Guadalhorce River.  Made up of middle grey sand the beach measures less then one kilometre. This beach is less popular than others (and therefore less crowded) due to sediment thrown into the sea by the river, and the fact that it is partially over flown by planes travelling to and from Malaga airport.

Facilities include; Golf, sailing, and windsurfing.

Playa San Julian / San Julian Beach

Playa San Julian can be found to the East of Torremolinos, and next to the state owned Parador Hotel and golf club (also known as Real Club de Campo de Malaga Golf). A very long beach measuring some 3,500 metres it is made up of middle grey sand. This beach is less popular (and therefore less crowded) due to sediment thrown into the sea by the nearby Guadalhorca River, and the fact that it is partially over flown by planes travelling to and from Malaga airport.

Facilities include; Golf.
