Sotogrande Golf The Real Club de Golf Sotogrande was the first European golf course designed by Robert Trent Jones, and was inaugurated in 1964. Always popular it has been consistently rated as one of the top 100 golf courses in the world. It is located in the Sotogrande residential area, at the westernmost end of the Costa del Sol. This par 72, 18 hole course measures 6224 metres (at championship length). Always a challenge to play, its fairways are wide with very little in the way of rough; lakes, fast greens, and strong winds add to the hazard. The course is encircled by majestic properties, and decorated with palms, eucalyptus, oak, and olive trees; creating a habitat for many species of wildlife. Sotogrande Golf boasts a host of additional services/amenities. Facilities here include; a members area, locker rooms, equipment storage room, pro shop and caddie master, driving range, practice green, swimming pool with bar, tennis court, table games, locker rooms, restaurant, bar, and cafeteria.
