Roquetas de Mar Tourist Information If you are looking for information that we have not managed to provide for you on Roquetas de Mar please contact the Tourist Offices directly, see below for details: Tourist Offices in the Costa Almeria coastline
Roquetas de Mar is a great place for holidays, it is completely unspoilt, but has everything you would require as a tourist. Now that the budget airlines fly there (both Ryan Air and Easyjet) it has opened up a coastline which wasn't accessible until this happened. Roquetas de Mar is the only package holiday resort in the Costa Almeria, now a very cosmopolitan town with a good night life, many 4/5 star hotels, and fine restaurants, it is traditionally a Spanish fishing town. The Playa Serena is a sandy beach that stretches over several kilometers with an abundance of water sports available. The sea is crystal clear and often as warm as the air. There is a well kept and established 18 hole golf course with an on-site restaurant, shops, and driving range. Please see Roquetas de Mar golf for more information. Mario Park Parque Aquatico the local water park is open from June to September and is an excellent way to cool off. The weather is excellent all year round with the largest number of cloudless days, sometimes beyond 3000hrs of sunshine every year. The average temperature is in the summer is 18ºC and and in the winter is 24ºC. The sea is crystal clear and most of time time warmer than the air. Cabo del Gato-Nijar natural park is very nearby and is well worth visiting, its a protected area with high ecological value, due to its flora and fauna. Nearby Mini Texas Hollywood, is also a fun day out a wild west town where a Fist full of Dollars was filmed. There is also a Zoo here. In Gergal, Sierra de los Filabres, you will find a astronomical center where you will find the worlds most powerful telescope, with the year round clear skies there is much to see. There are many troglodyte villages worth visiting because their homes are caves dug out of the cliffs. The village of Sante Fe de Modujar is well recommended. All in all I would highly recommend Roquetas de Mar as for your annual holiday or investment in property, it is an undiscovered town with friendly locals, and lots to do.
