Roquetas de Mar Roquetas de Mar is one of the rare, true holiday resorts on the Costa Almeria (the Province of Andalucia) but much quieter than its well known competitors. It is not as developed either, thereby guaranteeing a more peaceful break with plenty of elbow room of the impressive beaches. It is never the less attracting more and more residents buoyed by the relatively cheap Roquetas property market and has seen its official population grow by over 50% in the last decade, giving it an increasingly prosperous feel.
