How often are the property prices and lists updated?
Resale property in Spain prices are usually updated once a month, new property in Spain prices when they become available.
Do the prices include VAT ?
"Vat" is included in the new property prices.
What extra costs are involved ?
They usually say, allow 2 or 3% for legal fees etc.
Are these the actual/real prices ?
The prices in Euros (€) are correct, the £ (UK pound) prices are for a guide only, although we usually only convert with tourist rates, so when you transfer larger amounts abroad you should get better rates, around 3%.
How do I arrange an "Inspection Trip" ?
4 or 5 day inspection trips ( usually £50 from UK ) can be arranged for new property in Spain by phoning us. They are usually one couple per representative, not a coachload so you are not viewing property someone else wants to see.
How long does the buying process take ?
With resale property in Spain if you have the money, it can be done in days! With new property in Spain it can be done as soon as the villa / apartment is built, usually about 9 months.
"Inspection trips" what are they ?
They should be viewed as a relaxed business trip. They are heavily subsidised to enable you and your partner to view as many suitable new properties as possible. They include flights from the UK and accommodation in a quality hotel. Everything is arranged for you.
Can inspection trips be arranged for resale property in Spain ?
No, although we can arrange accommodation, for prices click here, car hire etc for you and arrange for someone to show you round any property while you are there.
What are the criteria for going on a subsidised inspection trip ?
You must be in a position to buy ( ie not "I'm thinking of selling my house" ), with a budget of at least £80.000 ( there is virtually no new property under this price anymore ).
How do I buy a property in Spain?
It is very easy in Spain, with the help of trained english speaking advisors, you will be guided every step of the way, even with help on opening a bank account.
I'm going to Spain to buy, what do I need to take?
Take a bankers draft for £2000 payable to yourself, that way if you see something you like, you can open a bank account and use that as a deposit, if you don't, you can bring it home and repay it into your bank account. It is almost impossible with "plastic" and can be very difficult with travellers cheques.

How do I get further details of resale property in Spain?
No brochures are available for resales ( by the time we got the information from Spain and had it printed, it would be out of date! ). We can forward further details by email, just let us know the reference numbers and we will send other photos and details.
I'm going to Spain in 8 months, can you send details of resales ?
Our advice is wait until a few weeks before you go, then let us have any reference numbers so we can send you up to date information. Resales, especially under £100.000 sell very quickly.

What are the running costs of a villa / apartment in Spain ?

I,m thinking of renting it out after I've bought it, is that easy?
Yes, all you need is someone to manage / clean it. Through our rental site "www.apartmentspain.co.uk" we will advertise it free for you, we just charge a commision on any bookings we get for you. Our advice is get bookings from wherever you can !

How many weeks a year will I be able to rent out?
It really depends on how much effort / marketing you put into it. Remember friends and relations are a "pain", they always want it cheap! The peak months are easy, try for golfers in the winter.
Where can I get reasonable flights?
Try our cheap flights page, its quite easy to use and fast, it checks all the major airlines and charter companies. When you click cheap flights in a few seconds a "pop up" window will open, this is scheduled flights", for the best deals from Uk airports click chartered in the top left hand corner of the pop up window, add your dates etc and it usually finds loads of deals. If you can avoid weekends all the better.

I'm thinking of living there, is that possible ?
If you are a Uk / EU citizen no problem, you just get a residents permit when you get there.
What about schools ?
There are english and Spanish schools. I've never heard bad reports on any. With the Spanish schools it seems to be the same as the UK, it depends on where you live as to what school you get allocated. They are used to dealing with english pupils.
What about working in Spain ?
Again, no problem once you've got your residents permit.
