Please see below for information on some of the most popular beaches in Mijas: -   Playa Cala de Mijas / Cala de Mijas Beach Playa Cala de Mijas is the first of an extensive sandbank formed by three beaches. An urban beach it is made up of fine golden sand and measures roughly 800 metres in length. Due to location this beach is very popular amongst locals and tourists alike. Facilities are not in short supply, with a multitude of water sports and related activities on offer. Those who have not brought any lunch need not worry as many restaurants and cafes can be found flanking the beach. Facilities include;  Water sports, sun beds and umbrellas, toilets and showers, windsurfing, ramps and provision for people with disabilities, life guards, and regular police patrols.   Playa La Butibamba / La Butibamba Beach Playa La Butibamba is a continuation of the Cala de Mijas beach, forming part of the same sandbank. A family friendly beach it is made up of fine golden sand and has been awarded the European blue flag for cleanliness. Due to location this is one of the most popular beaches in Mijas Costa, and as a result can get crowded during peak season.
