Malaga is the major city of the Costa del Sol and Andalusia. Having an agreeable climate throughout the year and perhaps the most diverse range of sights and leisure pursuits in southern Spain certainly does have its benefits, but what can Malaga properties really offer the would be buyer? Situated on the Costa del Sol in the province of Andalusia, the city of Malaga is well placed for travel throughout Spain on the regions recently upgraded road network. Malaga International Airport (AGP) is one of Spain's best served destinations with 8,000,000 passengers travelling there every year. In today's market transport infrastructure is often one of the most important aspects in buying an overseas home; after all the cheaper and easier it is to get there the more you will use it/rent it out. For many Malaga is the gateway to the Costa del Sol, Spain's most popular coastal destination. But it is also a jewel in its own right; a typical example of the region, untouched by tourism and largely by the passage of time. Arabs and Christians have both left their mark on this great city, with an array of sights to behold; from fortresses, to museums, cathedrals and gardens. Malaga also serves as a major port and industrial centre for the south of Spain. The city has modernised where needed and boasts excellent facilities for shopping, dining, entertainment and sports. Nature has also played its part in the town attraction; from the picturesque mountains that provide its backdrop, to the many kilometres of sandy beaches. Although Malaga does play host to a good selection of apartments, townhouses and villas, the vast majority are located west of the city in each of the varying coastal resorts.
