Lucar is a little town located in the coastline of Costa Almeria.  There are many local amenities including a bakers, restaurants, bars, a post office, doctors, sport center, a town hall, a bank, a couple of supermarkets, and a primary and junior school.  There is a regular bus that to and from the local secondary school in which is located in the nearby town of Tijola, just 7km away.
