The definition of a "Villa" is that of a luxury detached or semi detached property. Since Roman times the Villa has been a symbol of success which many aspire to. Villas available in Los Alcazares are as varied as they come. They range from 2 bedroom properties with little private land (but with access to communal facilities) to huge sprawling properties with pools and tennis courts, outbuildings etc. Those wishing to purchase a villa with room for a swimming pool need take note of the plot needed to construct one; the minimum plot necessary is usually at least 300m2. Obviously if the villa is itself larger than most, then a larger plot may be needed, and visa versa. Due the relative lack of choice in Spanish city centres of low rise property, many people often look either to the suburbs or surrounding areas (often coastal) for alternatives.
