Palm Tree Production
Palm tree production is the most important business in Elche, and they are used to liven up streets, parks, private gardens and urbanizations. There is an enormous variety of species, but the most famous ones are the strong "Guasintonia" and the date producing "Fenix candieniense." The price of a palm tree with a 2 metre trunk is approximately £400, whilst a tree with 5 or 6 branches from the same trunk can cost up to £4,000.
Ceramics
The production of ceramics is the most traditional craft in the area of La Marina. There are plenty of shops where you can find all sorts of vases, bowls and plates with the classic Mediterranean adornments.
