Javea Tourism The town of Javea has much to offer its visitors. A town of contrasts it is split into 3 portions; namely Javea old town, Javea port, and the beach area. The medieval old town has not changed much over the years; it is a maze of narrow winding streets, white fronted homes adorned with wrought iron balconies and gothic style windows, and many ancient churches (iglesias) and other structures. The old town leads down to the fishing port and harbour; home to a collection of restaurants and bars, many of them serving the catch of the day. The beach area is the site for much of the expansion and development in recent years, with many low rise developments and a slightly more international feel. The bulk of the visitors to the town tend to be a mixture between owners of holiday homes, and those renting privately owned properties. Of course, some visitors will stay in hotels and other accommodation types. Please see our "Javea Hotels" document for more information/online booking. Like other towns along the coast Javea has its roots as a fishing village, indeed it is a trade that is still prevalent here. It is also a testament to sensible town planning, there are no high rise hotels here, and package tour holidays are not welcomed. Whether you are looking for a mild climate, beautiful beaches, sporting activities, historical artefacts, souvenirs, a daytrip, or something to do in the evening there really is something in Javea for everyone.
