Guadalmina Golf Golf in Guadalmina is a major industry. Aside from its own nearby golf courses it is within easy reach of Marbella and its infamous golf valley. This part of Spain boasts the highest concentration of quality golf courses in Europe. Mild weather and warm winters are the main reason why the sport took off here; and with increased popularity in the game many visiting golfers (including well known professionals) use the Costa del Sol as their winter training ground. Estepona Golf first opened in 1989, and is located on the inland side of the main coastal road just one mile from Estepona's town centre. Guadalmina Golf Club is the 2nd oldest on the Costa del Sol (opening in 1959) and comprises a total of 45 holes; two 18 hole courses and a 9 hole "short play" course. It is located just outside Guadalmina... El Paraiso Golf is located between San Pedro de Alcantara and Estepona. With mountains as its backdrop the course is set in a valley offering magnificent views out across the Mediterranean Sea... Las Brisas Golf Club (officially known as the Real Club de Golf Las Brisas) was founded in 1968 and is amongst the best on the Costa del Sol. It is located in Nueva Andalucia, near to the prestigious town of Marbella... Los Naranjos Golf Club first opened in the 70's, although its clubhouse was not inaugurated until the end of 1991. Soon after opening it enjoyed immense popularity, and remains one of the Costa's "must play" courses... La Quinta Golf and Country Club The La Quinta Golf and Country Club boasts a total of 27 holes. The idea being it allows different combinations when playing 18 holes. Located near prestigious Marbella; Europe's premier golfing destination...
Some courses do not allow booking more than 7 days in advance (unless booking in large groups), instead preferring to capitalise on the income created by short term visitors. However due to demand, short term booking is almost always necessary and those turning up on the day expecting to play may find themselves disappointed. Do contact the corresponding clubhouse in advance to be certain before arrival.
