Welcome to Garrucha Tourism Up until recently Garrucha has been reasonably undiscovered mainly because the budget airlines were not flying to the Costa Almeria.  Now that Ryan air is flying to Almeria tourism is booming.  Although popular with tourists Garrucha hasn't lost any of its original charm, it it is totally unspoilt.  Garrucha is a traditional Spanish fishing town, with many good seafood restaurants, along the front where you can eat huge prawns, caught by the local fisherman, in local waters that day.  At dawn it is quite a sight seeing the fisherman go to work in their boats, and in the afternoon when they come home there is a daily market selling the freshest fish at Quayside fish market.    The beach in Garrucha is sandy and stretches along several kilometers, the second beach in Garrucha is the only blue flag town beach in Europe.  Each Friday morning from 9-2pm there is a market, this is well worth a visit to soak up the atmosphere, the goods on sale are of a high quality. Sights close to Garrucha: Cabo de Gata Natural Park - the natural park is very nearby and is well worth visiting, its a protected area with high ecological value, due to its flora and fauna. Astronomical Center - in Gergal, Sierra de los Filabres, you will find a astronomical center where you will find the worlds most powerful telescope, with the year round clear skies there is much to see. Troglodyte Villages - there are many troglodyte villages worth visiting  because their homes are caves dug out of the cliffs.  The village of Sante Fe de Modujar is well recommended. Mini Hollywood - a wild west town recreated with shows, cowboys, a museum, restaurants, a zoo with an array of animals, and a playground for the children.  Park Aquatico - lots of flumes, children's slide and swimming pool, wave machine, kamikaze ride, restaurants, shaded picnic area and much more Texas Hollywood - film studio, and theme park, this is where a Fist Full of Dollars was filmed.  There also live performances and a bar, and restaurant. All in all I would highly recommend Garrucha for your annual holiday or investment in property, it is an undiscovered, unspoilt town with friendly locals, and lots to do.
