Garrucha  Although popular with tourists Garrucha hasn't lost any of its original charm, it it is totally unspoilt.  Garrucha is a traditional Spanish fishing town, with many good seafood restaurants, along the front where you can eat huge prawns, caught by the local fisherman, in local waters that day.  At dawn it is quite a sight seeing the fisherman go to work in their boats, and in the afternoon when they come home there is a daily market selling the freshest fish at Quayside fish market.    Located in between Vera and Mojacar there is much to do in the surrounding areas.  In Garrucha of an evening it is nice to walk along the promenade, there are many children's playgrounds, and watch the sunset over the sea is quite spectacular.  There are 3 ports along the promenade; the sports port, fishing port, and commercial port.  There are two historical buildings of interest in Garrucha the Hermitage de la Virgen del Carmen; who is the Patron saint of Garrucha, this is celebrated annually in the form of a fiesta, please see Garrucha fiestas for more information.  And the second historical building is the Parish Church de San Joaquin.  The beach in Garrucha is sandy and stretches along several kilometers, the second beach in Garrucha is the only blue flag town beach in Europe.  Each Friday morning from 9-2pm there is a market, this is well worth a visit to soak up the atmosphere, the goods on sale are of a high quality. The weather is excellent all year round with the largest number of cloudless days, sometimes beyond 3000hrs of sunshine every year. The average temperature is in the summer is 25ºC and and in the winter is 12ºC. The sea is crystal clear and most of time time warmer than the air. All in all I would highly recommend Garrucha for your annual holiday or investment in property, it is an undiscovered, unspoilt town with friendly locals, and lots to do.
