Estepona Beaches

Estepona boasts good sandy beaches stretching for many kilometres. In the main they are accessible and often less busy than other parts of the coastline. Central areas are well equipped and with good quality chiringuitos (beach front cafes) and bars. Great care and attention is paid to litter collection throughout Estepona's beaches, and lifeguards/police patrols are in operation.

Playa La Rada / La Rada Beach

Playa La Rada is Estepona's central-most beach, and undoubtedly the most popular. It stretches for a total of 2.6 kilometres and is made up of golden sand. Flankinfg the beach is an attractive seafront promenade (awarded a national prize for beauty by the Ministry of Information and Tourism). La Rada beach is one of the few has been awarded the European blue flag and is generally very well serviced. There are a good collection of chiringuitos (beach front cafes) and bars present. For those keen on a stroll Estepona's marina is located at the westernmost end of the beach.

Facilities include;  Sun beds and umbrellas, toilets and showers, water sports facilities, life guards, and regular police patrols.

 

Playa El Cristo / El Cristo Beach

Playa El Cristo is located on the western side of the marina, and forms the contuinuation of La Rada beach. The beach is relatively small, and forms a sheltered cove ideal for small children and families. Due to its size the beach can become quite crowded at weekends. El Cristo beach is especially popular amongst sun worshippers as due to positioning the sunlight hours here are slightly longer than on other parts of Estepona's coastline.

Playa El Padron / El Padron Beach

Playa El Padron is located a couple of kilometres east of Estepona, near the Kempinski Hotel and Resort. A popular beach measuring one kilometre in length it is a mixtuire of sand and stones. A small number of chiringuitos (beach front cafes) can be found here.

Facilities include;  Sun beds and umbrellas, toilets and showers, life guards, and regular police patrols.
