Costa Almeria Fiestas There are many Fiestas along the coastline of Costa Almeria and the local people are very welcoming to tourist that want to join in. I would very much recommend going to a Spanish Fiesta as they really know how to party, the main Fiesta (Summer Fair) is always in the last week of August. This is a traditional still going from the middle ages. Each year the businesses close, the roads are blocked off, and a street party is set up with food, drink and music in abundance. People of all ages join the party in singing and dancing. In the evening the there is a fair ground just outside of the city center, and on some night a Spanish pop star will appear, on these nights there is often tickets on sale. The fiesta usually starts half way through the week and ends on Sunday night, although sometimes they will start at midnight on Sunday with a fireworks display. There is usually a bank holiday after the fiesta for the town to recover!
