Cabo de Gata Fiestas Annually on the 23rd June there is a fiesta in Cabo de Gata celebrating the St John (San Juan).  On the beach in the evening the locals light bonfires and celebrate St John (San Juan) altogether.  Spanish Fiestas The local people are very welcoming for tourists that want to join in with any fiesta.  I would very much recommend going to a Spanish Fiesta as they really know how to party.  A typical fiesta is celebrated annually and usually local businesses close, the roads are blocked off, and a street party is set up with food, drink and music in abundance.  People of all ages join the party in singing and dancing. Then in the evening the there is usually a fairground, and often on the last night there will be a fireworks display.  Sometimes there is even a bank holiday the day after the fiesta for the town to recover!
