Benidorm Beaches

Those contemplating a trip to a Benidorm beach will be happy to know that the city has a lot to offer. Although its sandy beaches are man made this does not detract from their quality. Virtually all of the beaches along the Costa Blanca are blue flag rated; Benidorm’s are no exception. Great care and attention is paid to litter collection, and lifeguards/police patrols operate almost everywhere. Dogs are not allowed on any of Benidorm’s beaches.

There are 3 beaches in Benidorm worth mentioning, please see below for more information: -

Playa Levante / Levante Beach

Also known as “sunrise beach” Playa Levante runs along the front of the city centre, and is the main seafront stop for many that visit Benidorm. Over 2 kilometres in length and with over 5,000 sun beds the beach is large, but can still get very crowded during the summer months.

The beach itself is made up of fine golden sand and clear waters. Palm trees decorate its fringes and promenade. A great deal of attention is paid to cleanliness here and visitors should find this beach in pristine condition throughout the year. Tourism has brought with it an extensive selection of restaurants, cafes and bars. The beach has also been adapted to cater for people with reduced ability.

Facilities include;      Water sports of every description, children’s playgrounds, swinging bridges, diving boards, rafts, slides, ramps and provision for people with disabilities, life guards, and regular police patrols.

Playa Poniente / Poniente Beach

Beyond the old town lays Playa Poniente. This is Benidorm’s longest beach measuring over 3 kilometres; it is also a good deal quieter than Playa Levante to the East. This is an excellent beach and well worth a trip, especially during the busier summer months. A great deal of attention is paid to cleanliness and visitors should find this beach in pristine condition throughout the year.

Again the beach is made up of golden sand and crystal clear waters, yet more palm trees have been planted adding to the overall ambience. Families, young children, the elderly, and the less able are well catered for.

Facilities include;      Water sports, children’s play areas, ramps and provision for people with disabilities, life guards, and regular police patrols.

Playa Mal Pas / Mal Pas Cove

Playa Mal Pas or Mal Pas Cove can be found close to the cities harbour. It is small, a lot less crowded, and a pleasant place to be. Most visitors to Benidorm do not find their way here.

Facilities include;      Restrooms, showers, lifeguards, and provision for people with disabilities.
