Benidorm Amusement Parks

Any visitor to Benidorm will tell you that you can't miss the "Terra Mitica". A huge theme park on the outskirts of Benidorm town divided into 6 ancient themed areas (Rome, Greece, Egypt, Spain, las Islas, Ocionia) of the ancient world, complete with replica monuments such as pyramids, castle, forum, wooden horse of troy and much more. Each area has iys own rides and amusements for the whole family and every age group. I've been there on several occasions with family and friends and always had a great time. My visits were always during the week in the off peak season and found the park virtualy empty and the queues non existent.

There are big rides for the big kids, try the huge wooden roller coaster if you've got a strong back and plenty for the youngsters including some nice shows, which although they are in Spanish, you will still enjoy the spectacle and on a hot day it is nice to sit in the shade for a while.

The food is typical of all theme parks with fast food of all types and refreshment and ice cream outlets spread throughout. The car park is huge and parking is charged for. There are (as you would expect) souvenir shops as well. Don't forget your suncream!

Prices are reasonable for a long fun filled day, but keep an eye out for special offers on tourist leaflets round the town which are plentiful, in fact I have always used 2 for 1 offers on all my visits.

Open from the end of March through to end of September, with peak times in October, November and December.

Terra Mitica telephone number; +34 902 020 220

Directions

From Benidorm the Terra Mitica is very well signposted (you really cannott miss it). However if you are traveling from other towns along the Costa Blanca, use of the A7 motorway is probably the quickest route. There is a direct exit for Terra Mitica but please remember some parts of the A7 is a toll road, so have some coins ready.
