Sierra de Escalona The Sierra de Escalona is a large forest area just inland from Campoamor. Although low altitude and close to the coast, the forest is still home to many bird species, including birds of prey. It is also home to many small mammals. The trees are mainly made up of Pine, Arbutus and Oaks. There are many worthwhile walks through the ravines and glades, from the La Vereda part of the Sierra de Escalona, right through to El Puerto de Rebate. The Sierra de Escalona is no more than 45 minutes drive South of Alicante.
