Embalse de la Pedrera - Alicante Attractions Alicante province is home to numerous attractions. One of these is the Embalse de Pedrera, which is a large reservoir situated near the village of Torremendo. Torremendo is just North West of San Miguel de Salinas, and about 20 minutes drive from Torrevieja. The reservoir is a typical Spanish wetland, and all round its banks grow salt cedar, reeds and rushes. With little in the way of human presence it has become a haven for nesting birds.
