Alicante - Beaches When it comes to beaches Alicante has a lot to offer. Virtually all of the beaches along the Costa Blanca are blue flag rated. Great care and attention is paid to litter collection, and lifeguards/police patrols operate in most popular spots. The city itself is home to a number of options, please see below for more information: - Playa de San Juan Considered by many to be one of the best beaches in Spain, Playa de San Juan is some 5km long. Flanked by many facilities including hotels, restaurants, bars, and even an 18 hole golf course, there is something here for everyone. Three small coves at "Cabo de las Huertas" go by the name of Palmera, Cantalares and Judios, providing an option for the nudist community due to their relative inaccessibility. Almadraba Beach This small sandy beach provides another option for those looking for alternatives. Often a favourite for people looking to practice water sports in safe surroundings. Albafuerta Beach Another favourite for water sports fans Albafuerta beach is well hidden. Playa del Coco This beach is located near the regional railway station. Playa de Postiguet This beach is located close to Alicante city centre and can be found at one end of the Explanada de Espana promenade, and near the marina. The beach can become more crowded than most during the summer months, due to its accessibility for day trippers and workers alike. Saladar The Saladar beach is broad, sandy and open. A pedestrian walkway offers excellent panoramic views of Alicante bay. Alicante BeachesBeaches in Alicante, Costa Blanca, Spain |
