Alicante Airport (El Altet) Information Alicante's International Airport (El Altet) is located 11km from the city itself. With easy access from the main A7 motorway, it is well signposted and hard to miss. With in excess of 7,000,000 passengers passing through the airport in 2002 El Altet is one of Southern Spain's busiest destinations. Many improvements have been made in recent years to the current terminals facilities, and the overall look of the place is relatively modern and spacious. Charges vary depending on length of stay. Buses Buses from Alicante Airport to Alicante run every 60 minutes between the hours 7.30am - 10.30pm. The cost is roughly 1.5 per person. It is also possible to catch a bus to Murcia, and other popular destinations. Taxi The taxi rank is positioned outside the main Alicante Airport terminal building. A queuing system is in operation. Alicante Airport Facilities In recent years the facilities available at El Altet have been greatly improved. Full facilities are in place for cash withdrawal, post and currency change. A multitude of options are available in the way of cafes and restaurants, with an equally good selection of shops to lighten you of your leftover euros. VIP Room The VIP room is available for the use of all business class passengers, and features a range of office facilities. These include phone, fax, photocopying and internet access. Disabled Facilities Both the main car park and the drop off point have areas designated for disabled passengers. The Airport terminal itself is fully equipped with ramps and disabled toilets.
